Special Needs Services

There are many support service for people who have special learning needs or health needs in Northumberland County. Children, adults and the elderly can benefit from these services. The funding for many of these services comes from different government organizations so you do not have to pay. Here are three important groups in the area:

Five Counties Children’s Centre

The Five Counties Children's Centre is a not-for-profit agency that provides speech language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and clinics to children who need it most.

Central East Access Centre or CCAC

The Central East Access Centre or CCAC helps people with a chronic disease or disability to access health care and support services like nursing and therapies.

The Canadian Hearing Society (Outreach Program)

The The Canadian Hearing Society offers 17 programs and services to meet the needs of people who are culturally deaf, oral deaf, deafened, or hard of hearing.
